1. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces.

15. Continue layering pancakes and apple filling until you’ve used them all.
16. Top the cake with any remaining apple filling.
17. Simmer the entire cake for 10 minutes.
18. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the cake to become very soft.
