DIY Avocado Seed Powder: How to Make and Use It

Instructions:

  1. Clean the Seeds:
    • Rinse the avocado seeds under cold water to remove any remaining flesh or residue.
  2. Dry the Seeds:
    • Place the cleaned seeds on a baking sheet. Let them air dry for 2-3 days to remove moisture. Alternatively, you can dry them in the oven at a low temperature (around 200°F or 90°C) for 2-3 hours until they become hard and dry.
  3. Remove the Outer Skin:
    • Once the seeds are fully dried, the thin brown outer layer will peel off easily. Remove this skin to expose the inner part of the seed.
  4. Grind the Seeds:
    • Cut the dried avocado seeds into small chunks with a knife. Then, use a high-powered blender, food processor, or coffee grinder to grind the chunks into a fine powder.
    • You may need to pulse a few times and stir between grinding to ensure even powdering.
  5. Store the Powder:
    • Store the avocado seed powder in an airtight container, preferably in a cool, dry place. The powder should stay fresh for up to a few months.
